These are photos from my ultrsound last week (21 weeks 3 days). The perinatologist said everything looks good! He says the kitten measured about 22 weeks 1 day (due date is still the same), so she is nice and healthy! He says she weighed approximately 1.04 pounds and measured about 12 inches tall. So five days later now, she is even bigger! It's amazing that she is only a pound, but you can see her little facial features (even though I know she is all scrunchy and still developing)... I think she's so cute! :)
Now here is an even more special picture of the kitten... While we were in Florida, Sophie Lu drew this photo of the two of them! She said, "Look, Mama! This is a picture of me with my baby!" (the black writing at the bottom says "Baby Sister" & "Sophie Lu" in "cursive"). I love that Sophie drew herself with her glasses & I especially love that she and her baby sister seem to be looking at each other... (so sweet)!

Your blog about Sophie was one of the first I found when I started pursuit of our own China adoption (we accepted a referral in mid-March and hope to be traveling in July), so I have been following it along, and enjoy all of your photos and updates.
Like you, I have had several m/c's, so I understand how precious this pregnancy is, too.

My sweet Savannah Grace has worn glasses since she was 3 1/2 years old and ALWAYS has drawn her glasses on her pictures! She still does at almost 10 years old! I will never forget the first time she did it - it was a Christmas angel they made from their handprint in pre-school - she drew purple glasses (the color of hers!) on her angel! It's funny how the glasses just become a part of who our girls are, and they just don't look right without them!
Oh the excitement of seeing that sweet little face for the first time! Baby is already just lovely. :)

Man! Ultrasound images really have improved these last eight years! I think Liam was a dot in black and white at 22 weeks! The kitten is adorable!! You can really see her features!

Your family and story is just beautiful! I'm a little late in the name game but I have a recommendation. My all time favorite girl's name is Mattea. It is latin and it's meaning is "Gift of God". It is also the feminine form of Matteo or Matthew. Although, I may be partial since it is my daughter's name. She is a gift that we received from God by way of China!!

I love reading about Sophie, Ollie and your soon-to-be new addition. It's a nice little break in my work day. I have a daughter - Grace Isabelle - from China also, and I have four stepchildren 15-20-21-25. I'm really enjoying hearing about your pregnancy, since it's something I'll never experience. Someone just told me the reason children draw big heads with legs and arms sticking out from them is because that is what they see when they are looking up at adults...of course that makes perfect sense. No matter the reason...they are precious works of art!!

Awwww Shana that made me tear up! What a little cutie :) Me and my husband want one more, and if it's through pregnancy I definitely want one of those ultrasounds, they are amazing! I'm so glad to hear everything went well.
